Finding affordable toys for to use in doll's houses or dollhouse sized shops takes a lot of mini hunting. That is why it is handy to have some toy boxes to fill the shelves while we look for the delightful miniature toys that we really want. I have found that a few boxes with a featured item sitting on top the in any little shop makes for a handy display. In my own toy shop still haven't come across enough miniature toys to make boxes unnecessary, but I have found some in unlikely places. Stationary departments in stores can be a treasure trove of mini bits and pieces, I have found colourful erasures shapes like little trucks and basketballs, bulletin board pins shaped like the cutest yellow rubber duckies. I was thrilled the day I came across cell phone charms all Disney characters, Mickey and the gang as well as all of the princesses !I hadn't even heard of cell phone charms before this discovery. Take a look at them in my Toy Shop. Novelty hair accessories for little girls have also been a source of tiny toys too, I have found soccer ball pony tail ties and teeny bunny barrettes which I use as ornaments in my dollhouse.Most of the dolls in my toy shop were found in the section for Baby Shower Supplies, they weren't dressed when I bought them.Even earings can be dollhouse size toys, my friend had sweet teddy bear earings that I really, really liked. Model railroad supplies can be good dollhouse toys. I have used the tiny people as dolls and the cars and other vehicles look superb in a toy shop or a boys bedroom in your dollhouse. I have been a dollhouse 'miniac' for many years now, but I still get excited find a perfect tiny something for my dollhouse.Hope you enjoy the hunt as much as me. |
